Welcome to Serpents Kiss Once upon a time there was a group of people who were part of a mailing list on a server called Churchnet. They all shared a common bond. All of them were devoted fans of The Mission. Numbers were below a hundred and it was a small intimate family who shared their love of The Mission with each other and became friends.

Then, disaster struck in 1998 when the Churchnet server collapsed and the group become lost in the wasteland. ;)

Some months later, one Johan Eskils founded the Mission mailing list at Onelist (now egroups) which is still in existence to this day. Again, this was a small community and, when I came to it in early ’99 it was a warm and intimate place to be. I loved the discussions, the jokes and witty comments of other people on this list and became quite addicted to it. It was a most productive and inspirational place to be. Friendships were forged, romances blossomed and a Mission tribute album was spawned. It seemed a place I would never want to leave...

Then the unthinkable happened, The Mission reformed! Suddenly, after almost 3 years of inactivity there was a tour, the Resurrection album and a sudden increase of interest in all things mish. What a celebration it was, the mish@onelist was in a lather of excitement, plans were made, the faith was kept and a wonderful time was had by all.

In the wake of all this an official Mission website was set up. MWIS (Mission World Information Service) carried tour details, discographies and anything else your average mish fan needed to know. Heaven on earth or what? Also included was a link to the mish@onelist mailing list which swelled the numbers increasingly.

To date, there are now over three hundred members on that list. It’s wonderful to have so many people who love the Mission all in one place but it killed the intimate warm atmosphere which existed before the Resurrection tour. Egotism abounded, flame wars erupted, in-jokes and off-topic banter was not just frowned upon but treated with contempt and some of the members grew tired and disheartened, mourning for the little family which had been smothered out of existence. It was time to leave the sinking ship...

And so it was that Serpents Kiss was born...

A list for people who love the mission and want to discuss them in a friendly warm atmosphere, this web-page will serve as a direct link to the Serpents Kiss list. Chat-times and other events will be scheduled regularly, we will carry links to other sites of interest and keep you up to date with what is happening regarding the band we all love most. The Mission, the reason we are all here.

We hope you enjoy this page, we have many other ideas on the boil which we hope to make reality in the near future, keep the faith, and enjoy...

If you want to join Serpents Kiss click on here. There is the small formality of membership approval but we have yet to refuse anyone. Flames will not be tolerated.
